IT Support Specialist

The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to resolve problems with the organization’s’ computer systems. Including hardware and software troubleshooting, system upgrades, and maintenance tasks. The IT Support Specialist is a detail-oriented and highly analytical individual who is comfortable working with a diverse range of technologies and computer systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Systems Technical Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical support—identifying, investigating, and resolving users’ problems with computer software and hardware—for problems specific to the organization’s computer network and systems.
  • Applies knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems.
  • Collaborates with IT staff to research and resolve problems.
  • Arranges service by software or hardware vendors to repair or replace defective products.
  • Maintains knowledge of technology innovations and trends. 

Network System Responsibilities:

  • Maintains network systems, installing new hardware and modifying existing hardware, and related network software and applications.
  • Installs and maintains peripheral devices including printers, hubs, routers, and other equipment.
  • Communicates with end users to understand and troubleshoot problems.
  • Conducts periodic diagnostics and testing to ensure optimal network function and minimal downtime.
  • Maintains email and intranet services, adding and removing users and accounts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in network maintenance and user technical support preferred.
  • A+, Network+, and/or similar certifications highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting and/or standing for a lengthy amount of time.
  • Frequent bending and reaching may be necessary.
  • Frequent use of fingers/hands to manipulate computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
  • Moving, lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • May be required to work on-call or long hours in case of network malfunction.

Position Overview:

Responsibilities:

  • Install, commission, and maintain battery energy storage systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on battery systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with battery components and systems.
  • Perform testing of battery performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, testing results, and equipment conditions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Battery Technician or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of battery technologies, including lithium-ion and other advanced energy storage systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols related to battery installations and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
